Once in Beja don’t forget to visit the local theater and attend to some of the programmed shows. Located in the city centre, the Pax Julia Municipal Theatre is one of the most iconic theaters in the south of Portugal, with modern features generously sized stage at an Auditorium that enables the performance of all types of shows. The public has a cozy space with a capacity of 650 seats.
Besides the main Auditorium, the Pax Julia Municipal Theatre integrates other facilities:

It’s a multidisciplinary room, next to the auditorium, with capacity for 150 persons.

URBAN CHALLENGE
Challenging way to discover Beja

Next April will be full of challenges and well spent hours. The Sports Office of the Polytechnic Institute of Beja (IPBeja) is promoting a very interesting way of discovering the city of Beja with the “Urban Challenge”, a game with the aim of discovering the capital of Baixo Alentejo, its community, secrets and most interesting places. The event will take place on the 16th of April (14h) and the meeting point is the School of Education, on the IPBeja campus.
The Urban Challenge is organized within the Hungarian Erasmus Students Encounter, taking place between the 14th and 17th of April, with the main goal of welcoming and showing the city to the Erasmus Hungarian Students recently arrived. An excellent opportunity to get to know the Alentejo.
This initiative joins the fun of discovering the cultural, historical and environmental backgrounds of Beja with the opportunity of showing the Hungarian students a good time and adjustment to their new community.
The fun is guarantied as the several teams will walk the streets of Beja, interacting with the inhabitants and discovering the charming Alentejo. You can´t miss it!
